definitionVariant of discoid lupus erythematosus characterized by purplish-blue, tender, chilblain-like nodules mainly involving the toes and fingers, but also occurring on the heels, calves, knees, nose and ears. Usually the chilblain lesions develop some years after the appearance of discoid lesions, but they may also occur alone or at the same time as discoid lesions. Females are predominantly affected. |
