Raynaud's Syndrome

definition

Paroxysmal pallor and coldness of the extremities, usually precipitated by cold, and followed by cyanosis and arterial hyperaemia. This phenomenon may be associated with many pathological conditions including vascular diseases (arteriosclerosis, thrombangiitis obliterans etc.), connective tissue diseases (scleroderma, lupus erythematosus, dermatomyositis etc.), neurological disturbances, blood changes, traumas and intoxications.
