definition
Eruption of transient oedematous swellings of the dermis or subcutaneous tissues in sun-exposed areas within several minutes following sun-exposure. The erythematous, oedematous urticarial papules and plaques are less likely to occur on chronically exposed skin sites such as the face and dorsum of hands than on normally nonexposed sites.
