Corticoid Damage

definition

The unwanted effects of topical steroids are related to their potencies and the duration of application. Local side-effects include cutaneous atrophy and striae, erythema of the face, steroid rosacea, perioral dermatitis, telangiectasia and retarded wound healing. Besides thinning the skin, topical steroids make it more receptive to infections, such as tinea.
