definitionDisseminated form of porokeratosis appearing on sun-exposed areas of the skin. The lesions usually begin around a follicle as small conical brownish-red papules. They expand, developing a sharp slightly raised keratotic ring which spreads out to a diameter of 10 mm or more. The tendency to develop these lesions is inherited as an autosomal dominant trait. The condition is more common in the older age group and in sunny regions. | synonymsDisseminated Superficial Actinic Porokeratosis, Porokeratosis Superficialis Disseminata Actinica (Chernosky-Freeman) |
