sorder in which partial striate whitening of the nails occurs. It may be congenital (transmitted in an autosomal dominant form) or acquired. Acquired forms may be due to local trauma. They also may be associated with arsenic or heavy metal poisoning, cirrhosis and hypoalbuminemia as well as any febrile illness.
