definition

South American variant of pemphigus foliaceus, an immunobullous disease characterized by pruritic, burning, or painful dermatitis, most often in a seborrheic distribution, small flaccid intraepidermal bullae and erosions. Endemic in Brazil, it occurs in children and young adults, particularly women.
